Addiction to smoking, vaping, and nicotine in general is an insidious beast. When we are addicted to nicotine our daily lives revolve around habits designed to administer the nicotine. Waking up, having coffee, driving, after meals, talking on the phone- all these events and more trigger a desire to smoke/vape/chew. Not to mention the psychological dependency that we develop around this habit; it calms us down, it wakes us up, it gives us a break from the rest of the world. Our lives revolve around it. So what can we do?
Hypnosis is a proven effective solution to changing our patterns and behaviors. Hypnosis can override our desire to smoke/vape/chew by replacing triggers with suggestions. For example, every time we want to smoke we reach for a glass of water instead. We are replacing an unhealthy behavior with a healthy one! We combine hypnosis with other behavioral changes designed to promote healthier choices, including exercise, diet changes and, if needed, nicotine replacement therapy. Essential oils are also recommended in assisting the client in staying grounded.
Using hypnosis to overcome nicotine addiction may take several sessions. Some will be relieved of their smoking/vaping and nicotine habits after the first session. Others may need additional sessions to taper their smoking down and quit on a designated date. Yet, a few will not be able to quit. Plan on between 4-6 sessions to see results. This is due to the systemic nature of the addiction. It is not the norm to quit nicotine after one hypnosis session. However, you will see improvements after one session. You will feel calmer and more resolute in your goals. Change simply takes time- but we are here for you!
Hypnosis is about connecting to the deepest parts of ourselves, tapping into the subconscious mind where we can connect with all parts of our being. Hypnosis has been successful in treating many behavioral, emotional, physical and spiritual issues.Your success will be decided by your level of participation and dedication. We will illuminate the path, but you must be the one to walk it.
What can I expect at the session?
You don't need any special preparations prior to the session. It is suggested that you wear comfortable clothing to help you relax. The process may put you to sleep if you are not well rested. Please refrain from any caffeinated drinks three hours prior to the session. Caffeine will inhibit your ability to receive the full benefit from the induction.
If the session is via an internet platform like ZOOM, it is suggested that you have a quiet place where you will not be interrupted by family or pets. You will need to be able to have a place to recline comfortably. It is suggested that you do not lie down as that would promote sleep. Of course, cell phones should be turned off.
